About Us
At the People, Profits, & Pensions website, we explore the ownership of big business by the
middle class, through pension funds and mutual funds.
The blogger is Robert F. Abbott, who is also the author of Big Macs & Our Pensions: Who Gets McDonald's Profits?
In addition, to writing stock ownership analyses of corporations for Seeking Alpha, Mr. Abbott has also written
extensively on business communication. That includes the book
A Manager's Guide to Newsletters: Communicating for Results, and the 3-chapter book,
Business Writing Skills: 3 Quick & Easy Improvements You can Make Today.
His communication perspective combines his experience as a radio news writer and announcer with analytical
skills gained while earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. He also has earned a Bachelor of Arts
degree. He formerly owned and operated The Newsletter Company, which created and published custom employee,
marketing, and membership newsletters for clients in a wide range of industries and environments.
When not writing and publishing, Mr. Abbott is an active community volunteer, which included serving as a
director and President of the Airdrie Festival of Lights
Society. This association manages and operates one of North America’s largest outdoor holiday light
spectaculars. He lives in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada where he is often dragged along dog paths by a Jack Russell
Terrier just a fraction of his size.
